Sunday Gatherings

We’re so glad you’ve decided to spend your Sunday with us. Our Sunday gatherings are a great place to make friends, explore faith and encounter God.

We meet at St John’s on Cedar Square at the usual time of 11am. Doors open at 10.30am for toast and coffee. We can’t wait to meet you!

 
 

Are you new? Stay for lunch

Every month, we host a welcome lunch for people who are new to Blackpool Church. It’s the best way to find your place in the church and meet other people who have started coming recently.

 
 

How to find us

Blackpool Church is situated in the town square of Blackpool, a short walk from the beach.

By car - Sainsbury’s offers free parking for 3 hours and is just a few minutes walk from church.

By train - The nearest station is Blackpool North which is about a 7 minute walk.

  • How long will it last?

    The gathering on a Sunday lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes and there’s some time before to chat to people.

  • What happens during the Sunday gathering?

    Doors open at 10.30am where we offer free hot drinks and toast in our café. The gathering starts at 11am with music, someone shares a talk with us and there is time to receive prayer if you would like at the end.

  • I won’t know anyone, how do I get to know people?

    We have a Welcome Team who will greet you at the door, chat to you and introduce you to other people. At the end of the gathering, head to the Connect Desk where we can take your details so that we can get to know you, tell you more about what is going on at church and get you connected in with other people.

  • Do I need to believe in God to come to church?

    No. There’s no requirement to believe anything to come and lots of people come to our church who are still exploring faith for the first time. Sundays are a place to experience what being a Christian is like and you can join in with as much as you feel comfortable.

  • I have additional needs, what support is available?

    We want everyone to feel at home in our church building so please speak to one of the team when you arrive if you have specific needs or feel free to email us at hello@blackpool.church during the week if you have any questions.

  • What is the dress code?

    There is no dress code for church, most people come to church in casual clothes but come in whatever you feel most comfortable wearing.

  • Do I have to pay to come to church?

    Coming to church is completely free and we don’t charge for refreshments either. The cost of running our church is covered by members of the congregation who give regularly. You can find out more about that here.

Kids & Youth

Our Sunday gatherings are a great place for under 18s as well as adults. We run kids groups for 3-11s and youth for college and secondary school-aged students.

 
 

Open House

We want to make sure our church is available for people to drop in during the week as well. Currently, the church is open on Thursdays 10am-12pm.
